Hozelock and Greenfingers working together to create gardens for Childrens Hospices

Hozelock have been working with Greefingers Since 2008. The Greenfingers Appeal is the charity of the gardening industry and last year raised over £240,000 for the provision of new and improved gardens. Greenfingers is ten years old, and during its life has created 29 special gardens. The benefits of these gardens are tremendous to children staying in hospices, and their families too.

Recently Greenfingers has seen the completion of the Acorns Children's Hospice Quiet & Family Gardens in Selly Oak Birmingham. Acorns Children's Hospice in Birmingham had been waiting for their garden for a long time. With kind support from Webbs of Wychbold,  Npower and Hozelock, Greenfingers managed to raise all the funding needed.

With only a small area of scrub grass to act as the sole outdoor space for the children and families at Acorns, the strong need for these gardens was clearly evident.  Clare Matthews provided Greenfingers with her expertise and developed two wonderful garden designs to support both the Quiet Garden and a more boisterous Family Garden.Volunteer support from Hozelock saw the gardens completed and opened 16th June 2010. The Gardens were opened by Greenfingers Chairman Richard Jackson.
